Web platforms
for healthcare

Healthcare software carries a weight most projects don’t. The people on the other end of the screen usually have enough to worry about already. I build patient-facing tools, research platforms, and clinical web applications that load fast, work for everyone, and hold up under real use. I work remotely with teams across Canada and beyond.

Fast, accessible, and built to be maintained

I led development across more than 15 clinical web applications for a children’s hospital: patient-facing tools, research platforms, and a VR experience that lets kids walk through the MRI process before it happens. Some of those apps used to take over 10 seconds to load. After migrating the portfolio to modern infrastructure with automated pipelines, load times dropped to under a second and maintenance overhead fell by roughly 15 hours a month.

Healthcare platforms live or die on accessibility, reliability, and being maintainable long after launch. I build to recognized accessibility standards, document what I ship, and hand it over so your team can run it without me. When a system reaches tens of thousands of people a month, none of that is optional.

BC Children’s Hospital

Built for people with enough to worry about

For years, the hospital’s clinical web applications were showing their age. Some took over 10 seconds to load for the patients, families, and clinicians depending on them, all of whom had enough on their minds already. I led development across 15+ of those applications: patient-facing tools, research platforms, and a VR experience that lets kids walk through the MRI process before it happens, reducing anxiety and improving outcomes. Migrated the entire portfolio to Azure with Docker and automated CI/CD pipelines, cutting maintenance overhead by around 15 hours a month and bringing load times down to under a second. The work reached over 20,000 users a month, and one project was featured in a peer-reviewed clinical study.

After 11 years, the Digital Lab has closed its doors and this site is no longer online.

Access to Therapy

Currently building

Redesigning the web presence for Access to Therapy, a mental health nonprofit. Building a site that handles thousands of visitors a month, meets accessibility standards, and lets the team manage it without calling a developer.
